Camp Food Outfitting Service

Bear River Mercantile offers a Camp Food Outfitting service, where we will make up your menu and do all the food shopping for your back country paddling trip. This is done with continuous input from you, to ensure that we put together a menu you enjoy. The benefit of this service is that you do not have to do any of the shopping - just arrive at Bowron Lake and find all your food waiting for you.  Bear River Mercantile charges a  service fee for this service.

The Service Fee must be paid in advance before the food order will be processed and is not refundable.  Camp Food Outfit Reservations must be received at least four weeks before your paddling date.  The price of the food will be paid in full upon pick up.  Please note that because of Public Health Regulations, we are not allowed to open any packaging, so cannot repackage foods into separate meal servings, but we invite you to use our place to do so yourself.

This food and menu process takes some time to put together, so please be sure to reserve at least four weeks in advance of your departure on the lakes.  Inquire for more details and a camp food outfit questionnaire.

Reservation and Refund Policies

The Service Fee must be paid before your camp food outfit will be processed.  Service Fees ensure your reservation and are not refundable.  The price of your food must be paid in full before you pick it up (see procedures below).

Payment Procedures

The service fee is to be made payable immediately by personal check, travelers cheque or money orders.  The food payment can be made when you arrive at Bear River Mercantile by cash, travelers cheque or money orders. If you wish to make the food payment by personal cheque then we will have an extra form for you to fill out in the event of a dishonored cheque. For 2008, VISA and MasterCard will still be accepted as a last resort.
