Bear River Mercantile is open during the winter months by reservation only. Please let us know you are coming or you may not find us at home.  X-country skiing, snow shoeing, kick sledding and dog sledding are popular winter activities in the Park.  Even though snow mobiles are not allowed in the park, there are lots of old roads and trails in the surrounding areas outside the Park boundaries.

We rent our cabins at the winter rate of $70.00 per night, for people who want to base their outings from Bowron Lake.  For those who want to try a winter camping trip around the chain, it is best to phone or e-mail ahead and inquire about current ice conditions.  Every winter at Bowron Lake is different, and ice conditions vary greatly from week to week.  Always keep an open mind that you may have to turn back half way around the lake chain and head home the way you came.
